Vision, Mission and Values

Vision

We long to see all people in Freiburg:

Hope in Christ and make disciples for the glory of God

Mission

Our way to accomplish this is:

To be a Reformed Church in Freiburg that seeks the lost and makes disciples.

Being Reformed

Being Reformed means looking upwards to God.  He is the starting point in all matters of life and faith.  Apart from Him we can do nothing, and so we follow His Word and practices. We, therefore, hold to and preach historic Christianity, as found in the Bible and summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Heidelberg Catechism

Being a Church

Being a Church means looking inward to those in the Church.  As the Body of Christ, our aim is to worship and serve Christ and one another with our gifts and resources.  We believe that we are brothers and sisters in Christ.  In this way, each Sunday is family time.

Seeking the Lost

Seeking the Lost means looking outward to those not in the Church. In the same way that God has come to us and loved us while we were still sinners, we are to love our neighbors. We expect sinners to sin and sheep without a shepherd to be lost. Our response is to prayerfully, patiently, and persistently seek them, because we also expect and know that God alone changes lives.

Making Disciples

Making Disciples means looking forward to the future.  As we all grow in grace, we want to help sharpen and encourage one another, moving from one degree of glory to the next.   Our desire is not ultimately to be saved, but to be Disciples and to reflect the image of Christ.  We desire to see future generations know and praise the Lord.
