Sermon 2. November 2025

Sermon Title : “Hope in Temptation – Part 2”
Mark 1:12-13 (Matthew 4:5-7)
Pastor: Brian Moore

This sermon warns that the greatest danger to God’s people isn’t external enemies but internal complacency, pride, and rashness—especially after moments of spiritual success. In the second temptation of Jesus (Matthew 4; Mark 1), Satan cleverly uses Scripture and Jesus’ own faith against Him, urging Him to prove His identity and test God’s promises. The message calls believers to resist the subtle pull toward self-reliance, hasty decisions, and presumptuous faith. True victory in temptation comes through humility, watchfulness, and deep communion with God—not through showy displays or self-justification. Jesus remained faithful, trusting the Father perfectly, so that we too might walk in faithful obedience and be called beloved children in whom God is well pleased.
